Rockville Centre, NY – Mercy Medical Center invites the community to a free lecture on “Li-ving With Diabetes” to be presented at the Baldwin Public Library on Thursday, October 20th at 2:00 p.m.
The hour-long presentation will be given by Maria Jacobi, a Physician Assistant and Certified Diabetes Educator with more than 17 years of experience, who developed Mercy’s out-patient diabetes education program which is recognized by the American Diabetes Association and the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
The presentation will provide an overview of diabetes, inclu-ding risk factors, complications and emotional issues related to the condition -- and how diabetics can live a normal healthy life through self-management of their condition with dietary changes, carbohydrate counting, exercise and medication management.
There is no charge for attending the presentation. Advance registration is available but is NOT required to attend.
